Because our goal is to utilize our knowledge and experience to assist attorneys achieve better client outcomes. we provide unbiased opinions based upon the standards of care, as well as the medical and nursing care.  Giordano Medical Legal Consultants are available to work for plaintiff or defense attorneys, as well as insurance companies or healthcare facilities. 
 
With offices in Illinois and Kentucky, we have worked on both the plaintiff and defense sides of civil and criminal cases, medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, personal injury, etc.  In addition to our staff, we also work within several networks of legal nurse consultants, and life care planners to assure that the correct expertise is found for your case
 

Giordano Medical Legal  Consultants

Tina Giordano, RN, ALNC,CPSS

Tina received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1983.  Since that time, she has worked as a staff nurse and supplemental staff nurse in a variety of departments including medical, surgical, obstetrics, telemetry, ICU, oncolgy, orthopedics, rehab, and wound care. She has been a Director of Nursing and a Corporate Consultant in long term care and rehab centers for seven years, where she also acted as case manager, taught wound care, regulatory compliance and care planning.  Tina has written policies and procedures, and has performed medical record audits for compliance and standard of care issues. Tina has provided home care to wound care and ostomy patients.  She is cerified as advanced legal nurse consultant and a product safety specialist.  She has taken specialty classes life care planning and is awaiting certification as a lifetime care planner.  In addition, Tina is pursuing certification as a Healthcare Quality and Management expert.
Tina is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Illinois Nurses Association (INA), the National Gerontological Nurses Association (NGNA), American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), Amercan Board of Quality Asurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) and the International and American Association of the Legal Nurse Industry (IAALNI).  To remain current with the everchanging healthcare environment, Tina continues to take continuing education courses in wound care, gerontology, legal nurse consulting, nurse life care planning, product safety, and medical issues.
Tina has worked on cases of nursing home litigation such as resident to resident abuse, wound care, malnutrition, failure to notify physician of changes, falls, etc.  She has also worked on medical malpractice and nursing negligence cases.  In addition, she provided research for the Innocence Project.
 
Debra Nelson, RN, WCC, ALNC
Debra has been a nurse since 1997.  Over the past 12 years, Debra has worked in a variety of patient care setting sas a staff nurse, hospice, home care, case management, and wound care consultant, and compliance manager.  She is well versed in wound care protocols and is adept to auditing medical records for standard of care and compliance issues.  Debra is has been certified as wound care specialist (WCC), a clinical OASIS specialist, and an advanced legal nurse consultant (ALNC).
Debra is a member of the National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC) and the International and American Association of The Legal Nurse Industry (IAALNI).  Debra has asisted with cases involving wound care.
 

Therese A. McKinney, RN

Therese received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1985.  Over the past 24 years she has worked in a variety of settings including ICU, mental health, emergency room and oncology.  Therese has also provided home care to terminally ill patients. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS).  In addition, Therese is certified as a CNA Instructor.
Therese enjoys taking continuing education courses to stay abreast of changes in standards of care. She is currently taking a legal nurse consultant course; but continues to enjoy direct patient care.
